MI6 enters Bond into the tournament, believing that a defeat would force Le Chiffre to take asylum, spilling valuable information. Following a trail that leads him to the Bahamas, Bond discovers that corrupt official Alex Dimitrios (Simon Abkarian) has connections to Le Chiffre. After winning a 1964 Aston Martin DB5 at a poker game, he seduces Dimitrios’ wife, Solange (Caterina Murino).
